Peculiar Puppets Vol. XII (in Glorious 16mm)

Roxy Cinema

During the first half of the 20th century, puppetry experienced a resurgence in filmmaking through stop-motion and live performances. Early television producers frequently used hand puppets and marionettes for quick and affordable children's entertainment. This retrospective features a variety of forgotten vintage short films from the 1930s to the 1970s, showcasing hand puppets, ventriloquist dolls, marionettes, and stop-motion creatures.
