This North American Premiere of "Variations on a Theme" is part of the New Directors/New Films 2026 festival. The screening will be followed by a Q&A session with directors Jason Jacobs and Devon Delmar. The film, originally titled "Variasies op ’n Tema" and running 65 minutes, is an intimate look at village life in South Africa, narrated by co-director Jason Jacobs, who is the grandson of the film's subject.
