This screening features Ron Peck's landmark 1978 film "Nighthawks," a significant piece of queer cinema, preceded by H. Lenn Keller's 1993 short film "Ifé," a world restoration premiere. The event on January 23 includes an introduction by critic Melissa Anderson, celebrating her new collection, "The Hunger: Film Writing, 2012–2024," with a book signing held outside Titus 2 prior to the screening. "Nighthawks" is noted for its candid portrayal of London's gay cruising scene in the pre-AIDS era, while "Ifé" chronicles a Black butch lesbian's experience in 1980s and 1990s San Francisco. Both films are presented as part of the To Save and Project: The 22nd MoMA International Festival of Film Preservation.
