This program features two documentaries. 'FRAME-UP! THE IMPRISONMENT OF MARTIN SOSTRE' (1974) by Steven Fischler, Joel Sucher, and Howard Blatt (30 min, 16mm-to-digital). 'TEACH OUR CHILDREN' (1974) by Christine Choy & Susan Robeson (35 min, 16mm-to-digital). The screening on Thursday, September 18, will be followed by a conversation with filmmaker Christine Choy, activist-educator Rosemari Mealy (JD, PhD), and guest-curator Yasmina Price.

Films interweave the fight against the carceral state with the centrality of education. 'Frame-Up!' focuses on a radical bookstore owner and jailhouse lawyer, drawing parallels to Malcolm X's dedication to Black Liberation, political education, and internationalist anti-imperialism. 'Teach Our Children' documents the Attica prisoner rebellion, tracing the development of the prisoners' rights movement.
