This screening of Histoires d'Amérique (Histoires d’Amérique: Food, Family and Philosophy) will be preceded by a cello performance by Sonia Wieder-Atherton, Chantal Akerman’s longtime collaborator. Wieder-Atherton will perform a selection of secular and religious Jewish music. The film explores the Jewish-American immigrant experience through humor and pathos, presenting a series of parables and dialogues centered on profound philosophical and cultural themes.
